Growing On Trees

There really is no way that I could have written this any better.... so I want you to read this blog post I found today because it explains exactly what lies on my heart everyday.

  1. Very excellent article, touching and true. More and more big companies should set up grant funds for adoptions, and why does it cost so much anyway? Thanks for bringing attention to this article, I'm sure you feel in a similar way.

  2. I saw your blog from A Place Called Simplicity. I also saw the following annoucement and thought of you and your husband:

3 week old baby girl with Spina Bifida in Florida

3 week old baby born prematurely at 32 weeks in Gainesville, FL. She has severe Spina Bifida. Her spinal cord is severed below a certain point. She will not walk and may have problems controlling elimination later in childhood. She will remain in the hospital for several more weeks.

So far, the doctors have seen no issues with her brain and expect her to develop normally from a cognitive standpoint. She is not on any IV’s or meds and has been eating entirely by mouth. She has developed hydro-cephaly and they will be installing a “shunt” within a day or two (as soon as she reaches 2000 grams in weight).

Adoption will be facilitated by Christian Family Services in Florida.

Christian Family Services has agreed to waive their agency fees. They have an attorney on retainer for this adoption. The estimated cost for this adoption will be approximately $4,000 - $6,000. The cost will include attorney fees, court cost and administration fees.

If you are interested in adopting this baby please contact Jerry Callens JerryC@cfsfl.org at Christian Family Services directly. Please do not contact the CHASK office for more information on this situation.
